A lot has been written in the press just a while ago regarding the bingo industry singing the blues as a result of the cigarette ban in Britain. Conditions have grown so awful that in Scotland the Bingo industry has asked for big aid to assist in keeping the industry afloat. But will the web variation of this classic game present a reprieve, or might it not compare to its land based kin?

Bingo is an classic game historically played by the "blue haired" generation. No more will gamblers be permitted to smoke whilst marking numbers. From the summer of 2007 all public places will not be allowed to permit cigarettes in their locations and this includes Bingo halls, which are possibly the most favored places where folks enjoy smoking.

The effects of the anti cigarette law can already be seen in Scotland where smoking is already banned in the bingo halls. Numbers have plunged and the industry is beyond a doubt struggling for its life. But where did the players go? Certainly they haven’t given up on this age old game?
