Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the Native tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for years. Patrons from all of the neighboring states get in vans and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA was introduced after a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that instance, twenty three of the 39 Indian tribes located in Oklahoma have established gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the betting laws, and at this time control 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling halls were built on. digital games such as slot machines were not permitted, since they are believed to contribute to gambling problems more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules has changed to allow for big Amerindian wagering gambling halls. You will now see American Indian gambling halls with slot machine games, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet authorized in the Amerindian gambling dens as of yet, but that is simply a matter of time. Nobody can authority whether having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
