Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That’s because the Indian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for decades. Patrons from each of the nearby states load up in cars and travel to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act became law after a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. From that time, 23 of the thirty nine Indian bands located in Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the wagering laws, and today control ten gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were founded. computerized games like slot machine games weren’t approved, since they are thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.
